From Campus to Court — We Need Your Support

Summary of our Project

We are raising £2,100 to support our Basketball Club and ensure that financial barriers do not prevent any player from fully participating in club life.

The funds raised will help cover high participation and event costs, provide essential equipment and materials, and enable more players to take part in club activities. Our equipment is quite dated; your donation would help replace these materials. We also hope to host more team-building and social events throughout the year, helping to strengthen our club culture, build team morale, and create a more welcoming and inclusive community for everyone.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will help us make basketball more accessible and build a stronger club both on and off the court.

Our story

We’ve had great success with the programme over the past few years and are excited to continue building on this momentum. We have four competitive teams: two men’s and two women’s. Having been promoted to Division 1 in 2023 for the first time in programme history, our Men’s 1s are thriving in their league and continue to push for the title. Following their promotion, our Women’s 2s had a very successful first year in Division 1, achieving a 3rd place finish. Our Men’s 2s won promotion last season and went on an amazing conference cup run, reaching the semifinals; they look forward to continuing to punch far above their weight class as they take on Division 4 this year. Finally, our Women’s 1s are about to take their rightful place in BUCS Prem (the highest level of competition in British university basketball), having completed an undefeated season, sweeping Division 1 and the National Trophy.

Why this matters to us: We believe a player's place on this team should depend on passion, drive, and performance. Basketball has taught our players discipline, teamwork, and confidence; we want every one of them to have equal access to that experience while using updated equipment to improve performance.

Why it matters to you: When you give, you're helping build a more inclusive community and allowing us to increase our level of basketball by using updated equipment.

Where will the money go?

If we reach our full target, the club will host bonding events that strengthen team and program dynamics and invest in materials essential to player performance. Any additional funds raised will go directly into our bursary fund, helping more students cover the cost of playing. We'll share updates on the project's progress throughout the term on our Instagram and through our email newsletter. (See details below for contact information).
