UBUNTU Charity fashion show 2026:

We're raising £2,500 to support the planning and execution of our flagship fashion show, which aims to honour Afro-Caribbean culture and creativity, promote black community and fill a niche within our university.

OUR story

Founded in 2017, Ubuntu is an expressive celebration of Black fashion and art, hosted in St Andrews. The fashion show has been anticipated in our academic calendar for years, until a pause in the 2024/25 year. After a presidential campaign won by Nicole Tettey in 2025, the St. Andrews African- Caribbean Society (ACS) successfully brought the flagship creative event back to our town.

Although this year, Ubuntu is taking up more space. Boldly, unapologetically, and with purpose.

We’re expanding beyond a single night of fashion into a movement: a celebration of culture, identity, and creative excellence rooted in African and Caribbean heritage.

With renewed energy, a dedicated team, and a vision sharpened by experience, Ubuntu is set to be more impactful, more ambitious, and more unmissable than ever before.

Every expression is crafted to leave an impression and a legacy: to make a statement across campus, inspire future creators, and honour the stories we carry. This isn’t just a show. It’s history in motion.

Where will the money go?

The minimum target will help us fund the promotional events that will help us raise awareness about our project within the St Andrews community. We want to reach our goal of £2,500 to:

  • Cover costs of our venue, promotional materials and shipping costs
  • Providing gift bags and printed brochures to all of our guests
  • Pay for decorations and seating for the event

In the unlikely event that the event doesn't go ahead, we will use the raised funds to support future events within the St Andrews Afro-Caribbean Society.

OUR CHARITY IN FOCUS : The Datakirk

We plan to donate part of the money gained from the Fashion Show ticket sales and other fundraising events on the day to our chosen charity : The DataKirk, which is an inspiring Edinburgh-based social enterprise and registered charity, founded in May 2019. Their mission is to close both the data divide and the attainment gap for ethnic minorities across Scotland. If you want to hear more about what they stand for, visit their website : The DataKirk !
