WHAT ARE WE DOING?
The University of St Andrews Hockey Club is an ever-growing, developing, and constructive Club which aims to provide the upmost for its students. Therefore, we, as a club, aim to provide a ‘Saints Hockey Club Bursary’ for the 2025/2026 academic year. This Bursary aims to make hockey as a sport more accessible to students who may struggle financially, making them unable to join the hockey club. As the Hockey Club is constantly developing and changing, it aims to create an environment of equality and involvement, which the bursary will help happen, as it will reduce membership cost, encouraging more students who would previously be unable to access the club to join. The Clubs membership is currently £236 for a full academic year of playing hockey and £325 with full access to all gym extras. However, we also offer payment semester at a time, typically this options suits new students unsure on how much they wish to play hockey throughout the entire year, which is an excellent option for students who may wish to play a different sport come second semester.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
The Hockey Club membership ensures players with access to training sessions in their respective teams, transport to and from away hockey matches, including re-imbursement for fuel costs if they have driven their own car, and access to excellent coaches, with vast experience in playing and coaching all levels of hockey, creating an extremely friendly and cohesive environment to St. Andrews Hockey Club.
Where will THE MONEY GO?
The money raised through this funding page will be directly transferred to pay for students eligible for a bursary within our club. The Hockey Club bursary's main aim is to provide paid memberships for students who may require funding and qualify for a bursary within the Hockey Club. The Bursary programme ultimately is a great way to involve more students within hockey as a sport and a community, in particular students who would previously have been unable to join due to cost restraints.
