A tree for lewis
With the blessing of Lewis' family and approval from the University of St Andrews, we would like to plant an Ornamental Cherry Tree in the grounds of University Hall.
Lewis Shields spent four happy years in St Andrews, living in University Hall where he became Senior Student, and graduated as part of the Class of 2007. We therefore feel that University Hall is a fitting place to create a lasting, living memory to our much-loved Lewis.
In order for us to succeed, we are required to raise £1000 which will enable the tree to be planted by the University along with a memorial plaque. Additional funds raised will be donated to support the Mental Health & Wellbeing fund for current students at St Andrews.
Once the tree is planted we plan to hold a small ceremony with a celebrant from the University. The date of this event is yet to be decided and will be shared well in advance of it taking place, should you wish to attend.
You don't need to be a former student of St Andrews to contribute, donate or attend our celebration, or visit the tree in the grounds once it is planted.
Please donate and share this page with all the people who met and loved Lewis from Scotland to Australia and everywhere in between. We are grateful for any contribution. The University of St Andrews are kindly providing this platform at no charge, so 100% of your donation goes towards the fundraiser for Lewis.
Please note: your donation will not be taken from your bank account until the project deadline and only if the minimum target has been reached. If the minimum target is not reached, then no funds will be collected.
