Help us raise funds for Sport in Action Zambia to build a car wash at their Livingstone office!

Sport in Action is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) whose purpose is to improve people’s quality of life through sport and recreational activities. Sport in Action staff, supported by a team of volunteers, deliver various recreational sports sessions across Zambia and a Girls in Action programme which aims to empower and educate young females.

The Sport in Action Livingstone office is looking to build a car wash on site. The car wash would open up paid opportunities for their volunteer coaches to participate in around their busy coaching schedule. This would allow more volunteers to continue to run much needed sport and education sessions to local children on a more regular and reliable basis.

our story

Saints Sport have been supporting Sport in Action for over 10 years through the Volunteer Zambia and Volunteer Livingstone programmes. Each summer we send a team of student volunteers to Zambia to work alongside the NGO to support with their goals and outcomes. This includes supporting with coach development and education, which in turn helps to increase participation and outreach to children and young people, providing them with more opportunities to access sport.

Continuing our support to Sport in Action and supporting with their goal of opening a car wash is something that is close to our student alumni and staff’s hearts, as it will open up opportunities for the coaches and communities that the students directly worked alongside. The car wash will provide much needed income opportunities for the volunteer coaches and also open up opportunities for the wider community. This will increase participation at the classes and ensure that local children have regular sports sessions they can attend.

Where will the money go?

All money raised will go to NGO Sport in Action to allow them to build their car wash, anything raised over the target will be donated for the NGO to use on areas of greatest need.
