I am fundraising to enable me to travel to Lusaka Zambia to support NGO Sport in Action, to upskill and develop coaches!
who are you?
Hey I'm Chloe, and I'm in my 1st year at the University of St Andrews studying Neuroscience. I've been playing netball since I was 7 and have played for a few clubs in that time most notably, Saracens Mavericks. I have been lucky enough to coach for 2 local home teams for the past 3 years and now here at the University. My coaching experiences so far have been more than rewarding and therefore am really looking forward to this new challenge - developing others and also giving me the chance to learn lots of new skills and methods too!
my project
I, as a Netball Development Officer, along with Ethan Mullens, the Football Development Officer, from the University of St Andrews are raising money to help us travel to Zambia to work with their coaches. For me, this will involve delivering a netball programme to children of all ages. This programme has been running for several years and strong connections have been established between in-country coaches, communities, and sports teams. Every year, the students that travel out are aiming to develop and build on these connections even further, and learn as much as we can from the programmes and people, whilst simultaneously doing what we can to promote and develop all aspects of sport to children and communities.
I love to coach, I love sport, and I've seen first hand the incredible, endless benefits it can provide. The fact that I get the chance to share these with others and learn and develop my own coaching and lifestyle at the same time, truly makes me feel very lucky!
By supporting us you are providing coaching, teaching, and mentorship and are helping to build a framework for sustainable change. The skills and knowledge passed on to local community members will continue to impact generations, creating a ripple effect of progress.
Where will the money go?
Helping me to get to Lusaka, areas of greatest need and allowing us to purchase required sports equipment for Zambia.
Please note: All payments will be processed at the time of donation. This means you will be charged immediately upon making your donation. In the event that a project does not reach its specified target, your donation will be directed towards the area of greatest need within the programme. This approach allows us to maximise the impact of your support and ensures that your contribution continues to make a meaningful difference. If you have any questions or concerns about this update, please do not hesitate to contact us at saintsfunder@st-andrews.ac.uk.
rewards
I will also be giving out some rewards to thank people who are donating. Anyone who donates at least £5 will be entered into a raffle I will be doing which will include some very exciting things! Donating may also give you a reduced fee for some of our events so please follow my Instagram or Tiktok page to keep up to date with what’s going on!

Help us succeed
You don't need to give money to help me succeed!
Please share this project with anyone you think would support me – on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, by email, telephone, in a chat over the fence or on your blog. Please don’t forget to sign up as a Helper or Follower.
In fact if you could share it with everyone you know that would be amazing! The more people who know about it, the more likely I am to achieve my goal. And I know I said you don't need to give money to help, but I'd love it if you did! Please sponsor me and help make this happen. I am so excited to be taking part in this wonderful project. Thank you!
