BREAKING ALL THE RECORDS!

After our great success at Henley Women’s Regatta, our boy’s have only gone and smashed all previous club records at Henley Royal Regatta. The crew, comprised of Holly, Campbell, Oscar, Henry and Chris, managed to finish in the top four crews of the Prince Albert Challenge Cup. This is a massive achievement and represents all the hard work of not only the crew, but the coaches, captains and committees - past and present.

This achievement is made even more impressive when you consider that they were competing against clubs and programs with large coaching teams, boat houses, personal physiotherapists and strength and conditioning coaches. The boys were knocked out after a close battle with Durham University Boat Club. Durham University Boat Club is one of GB’s high performance programs and so it just shows that the club continues to compete at the highest levels regardless of the obstacles we have faced. It was great to hear the commentators remarking on our journey and the club’s reputation as an up and coming program.

It is fair to say that what the clubs lacks for in funding, we more than make up for by having a fantastic support network. It was great to see the members of Eden Boat Club, our alumni and supporters club, who had a beautiful BBQ ready for the boy’s as soon as they got off the water. If you want to join the club, you can for free on our website.  We are hugely grateful for the support of Eden, and any other supporters. We would never have made it as far as we have without them. Yet we still have a little way to go. After talking to people at the BBQ, Henley and the University, it was agreed that after the crews tremendous success we are going to extend our fundraising deadline until the 7th of September. This date is that of Saints Regatta, the UK’s largest student-run regatta, which is coordinated by the club.

Please use this extra time to share Project 24 with friends and family, encouraging them to sign up as a helper. Every little bit helps us reach that final goal of £35,000. We only have to raise £6,000 more and then our generous match donor will cover the rest, ensuring we are able to purchase two brand new boats. This will also be a huge step for the club, showing how far we have come. If you would like to be a part of the club’s history, and support one of the best clubs in the UK, then please donate now.

uSTabc beatS IMPERIAL COLLEGE

We have made club history after beating Imperial College in the heats of the Prince Albert Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta. Our crew have done fantastically well, moving onto the next stage on Friday. This just shows that their hard work throughout the year has really paid off.

As a club, we are moving from strength to strength, growing steadily. Yet in order to keep progressing, we need your help. Project 24 is crucial to sustaining the amazing progress of the club, and helping us grow even further. Henley wOMEN'S rEGATTA and SCOT CHAMPS

The term may be over, but we here at UStABC have still been hard at work.  For the first time in 57 years, we were crowned Scottish Champions in the M2- and W4+ at the annual Scottish Championship Regatta! This is an amazing achievement. Furthermore, we were able to add more medals to our slowly growing collection, taking 1st and 2nd in the Women's singles event. It was another record breaking performance from the Saints.

Over the last week, the Saints were also at Henley Women’s Regatta. Our Women’s Aspirational Academic Coxless Four reached the quarter-finals after a fantastic year of racing. They raced in a boat that was bought previously by donations from our amazing supporters. Without your help we wouldnt have been able to compete. Your donations are vital in allowing us to continue training, working and performing at the highest levels.

initial goal!

We have just surpassed the intial £8,750 pounds. This means that our generous match donor will match your donations, ensuring we are able to purchase our first boat. This is an amazing achievement and we are incredibly grateful for everyone's support. Now, we have managed to reach the halfway point, the end is is almost in sight.

Recent training

All our athletes have been working hard over the last few weeks to prepare for Henley Royal Regatta, as well as Scot Champs this weekend. Please keep your eyes out for updates on our social media. Your support means the world to every single one of them, and helps us reach new heights!

Project24 Incredible News!

We cannot believe it! We are so excited to announce that we’ve received an incredible offer from a very generous donor…

When we raise £8,750, they will match this to guarantee that we are able to purchase our first boat and reach our half way point.

Please − help us to reach this initial target.

The first addition to our new fleet is almost in sight! Thank you to everyone for your support so far.

WE HAVE ADDED MONEY RAISED VIA PLEDGE500

The club has a long history of running campaigns in order to fund fleet expansions. We do not receive any funding from Scottish Rowing or British Rowing and yet compete with programmes that do; regularly beating them.

In order to sustain this high level of competition, we have previously asked for donations via schemes like Pledge500. All the money raised by these schemes went into our 'New Boat Fund' and were ear-marked for fleet expansion. Therefore it makes sense that these funds are added to Project 24.

Project 24 is our most ambitious project to date, and so we need as much help as we can get. Your continued support is invaluable. Make sure you sign up as a helper and follow our platform in order to receive updates.

RECORD BREAKING BUCS WEEKEND!

I hope you all had a great bank holiday weekend, our club certainly did! We managed to secure 4 BUC's medals and smash our previous club record. This haul included 2 golds! If you want to read more about this weekend, please click the link here.

We are immensely proud of all our athletes as this is a testament to their hard work and dedication to the sport. It is also a reflection of the fantastic support we have received, and hopeful will continue to receive.

Now more than ever do we need your help, as our director Jordan Stanley said in his recent interview here:

"we are performing at a very high level...in rowing 99% of your results come from the rowers in the boat but 1% unfortunately does come from the boat...currently where we are at...that 1% is what we are missing"

We ask you continue to share and update friends and family on not only the fantastic success of the club, but also on Project 24.

It has only been a week and we are already well on the way to reaching our goal

Over the weekend we experienced tremendous success, coming second in the Scottish Student Rowing Victor Ludorum at Scottish Rowing Spring Regatta. We were the highest performing non-funded university programme, so are tremendously proud of this achievement. Overall we took 7 gold medals, 1 silver and 6 bronze. You can read more here.

We believe this bodes well for the British University and Colleges Sports (BUCS) regatta at Holme Pierrepont this weekend. The event is the focus of much of our training and we hope you can join us. Last year the club had its most successful BUCS regatta ever, with 2 silver and 1 bronze medals. You can read more here.

Your support is vital in building upon this success, helping us grow and develop as a club, reaching the highest level of performance possible. We would ask that you continue to share Project 24 with friends and family. In that mind, we have interviewed Oscar and Henry about what this project means to them. You can watch that here

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the club through this platform, or our social media. You can also email myself at development_rowing@saints-sport.com. Thank you for all you have done so far.
